Curious as to everyone's favorite amp to play their Les Paul's thru. I use a DSL50 with a mercury output tran. through a marshall 1936 2x12 cab. Great crunch tone. Just posting to get the new forum goin. Cool site!!

The board is still pretty young. Things will start happening when we get more members. Please spread the word? Have some patience brother. I know how you feel...
I have a Marshall mg 100 fx amp. With various pedals...

For me, Stratocasters are the way to fly. Prefer Fender Amps as well. BassMan's, Twins, Deluxe Reverb's, Vobroverb's, Blues Deluxe etc... My current amp is a Music Man (designed by Leo which in my book IS a Fender). It's a 115RP. Basically a BlackFace VibroVerb. Have used it extensively for Gigs and have never had a problem w/ it. Best Amp I've ever owned.

I like running through an old Peavey VT 212 Classic can make it sound like a Fat Strat if I want ( I use and old Cry Baby Wah to help get the tone right)

I usually let the gig dictate the amp. When I get a guitar booking, I have an old Roland VG-7 that works well for acoustic and does a pretty good job of sounding like a Roland JC120. I also have an old Peavey Classic 30. It was the second one made and was built for me by James Brown (the guy who designed the Classic Series) when I worked for Peavey. My Strat, Tele, DBZ Imperial and Line 6 Variax all seem to work well with the Roland. The Line 6 doesn't seem to like the Peavey much, though. When I get called for bass gigs, it's always my Epifani rig. There's nothing on the planet better.

A Gibson Les Paul is my main guitar although I also use an American Strat and a Takamine acoustic/electric at shows. My rig consists of a Fender Deluxe Reverb that I run through a custom built Avatar 4x12 cab. The cab has two different types of Celestion speakers in it - Vintage 30's and Heritage 30's. The tone of the stock speaker in the Deluxe Reverb can be a little harsh. I used to use a Line6 PodXT for effects, but have found that a board full of Boss pedals (DD20 for all kinds of distortion, CH1 Super Chorus, DD3 Digital Delay, etc...) is the way to go for me. I think the Fender amp does clean tones better than any amp out there, but I still would love to have a Marshall DSL for the crunchy stuff.

Not a Lester guy myself (like the way they sound, can't stand how they play and feel-go figger!) but I'm a Fender guy as well when it comes to amps (and I have a 335 and 175, so I've got some 'buckers in the stable!) Usually a Fender Super Reverb, or on small gigs, a Carvin Vintage 16. The Fender has it's original CTS "Horseshoe" speakers, while the Carvin has an Eminence Cannabis Rex speaker in it (wonderful speaker that can tame a too-bright amp!). While I have the 335 and 175, I usually play Fenders on my gigs, along with an ancient Harmony Lap Steel...

I gave away my last humbucker guitar last weekend. It was a Michael Kelly Hourglass. Don't get me wrong, these guitars are very good for the money. The fit, feel, craftsmanship and playability are right up there with much more expensive guitars. Pups not so much. I now play an aluminum body Tele with Lindy Fralin Blues Specials pups and a Strat with a maple compound radius neck.A few years ago my Peavey Classic 30 (mid 90's)gave up the ghost. I bought a Line 6 Spider IV 75 watt to replace the Peavey. The only thing I like about this amp is the built in tuner. It has more settings than I,as a humble blues player, can figure out.To compound matters I tried using my Boss Gt-8 with it.My head is still spinning. Some people have a knack for this stuff but i don't. So I brought my Peavey to Gary Dahl and told him money is no object I need my Peavey back.It cost me next to nothing and it is like new. He has a customer for life. I have had Les Pauls and Epiphone Les Pauls but I kept coming down with Les Paulsie in my left shoulder from the weight. I am now building a dual humbucker Strat.I still like the humbucker sound. For now I am content with my Fenders,my Peavey and an 8 channel equalizer.

Don't play a Paul but run either a Am Std Strat or Peavey Wolfgang through my Rivera Clubster Doce with a Eminence Cannabis Rex. I also have a Mesa Nomad 45 head and various cabs, (4x12 and 1x12,) I can run that through.
