Yep - that's a Matchless Chieftain, sampson era. It sounds ridiculously good. And that guitar, I designed it myself and it was built by a good friend of mine who does amazing work. I call the guitar Kelly - she's a dream. Premium wood, custom electronics, and so comfortable to play it is crazy. The pickups are harmonic designs humbuckers. I spoke with the guy who makes them personally and then waited 6 months to get my custom order. It was worth it. Their is a variation of the Jimmy Page switching system installed, plus a circuit called the "Vintage Cooler" that is not available anywhere - the guy that makes them probably installed less than a dozen before he ended up getting out of the business. It's pretty cool, basically when the neck pickup is in humbucker mode, I can engage that circuit and the volume knob transforms into something else... it basically gives the pickup an "underwound" sound. I can dial it in to taste and if I pull it back far enough then it will also pull the volume down. It's pretty sweet. I guess its sort of a cross between a PRS Custom 24 and a Strat, with a splash of Les Paul thrown in for good measure.. Attachments:
