Thanks to the board Admin. we have this new category! I grew up and "cut my teeth" musically on the great music from the the 50's and 60's. I'm sure I am not alone, so now we have a venue to talk, compare notes and tell our war stories!

You're almost alone...but not quite.
I love oldies. Experienced guitarist would love to play again. Can share in singing lead.
Oldies - mid 50's through mid 60's, Some blues, even a little country is OK.
Ideally would like to play with base, drums, keys, and if a pie-in-the-sky wish came true, add a tenor sax.
If not ideal...just me and keys w vocals would be OK

It's great to know there are others from that era who are still playing this music. I'm working steady with "All Shook Up" (details under "band contacts") and getting a great audience response...even from the younger crowd. I enjoy the traditional country as well, especially western swing...Ray Price, Faron Young, you know the 4-4 stuff, but being a drummer, the 50's and 60's popular music is more fun and a bit more challenging. This forum is new so hopefully, over time, we can get others involved...spread the word!
