Apparently those who advertise on this site must truly believe teens use this thing. I've already come to that conclusion. They or the washed up hacks who attack mindlessly those whose only "sin" is to type their views on the "scene" in this area. Rather than correct me with data, I got attacked with some of the Goddamnedest utterances I've ever seen. Straight outta middle school.
The FEAR that must exist locally amongst "musicians." It's like going to the big box music store, offloading some Miles groove or even beloved Christmas carol melodies on the electric bass in the spirit of the spirit complete with dynamics, a little humor, reverence as required -- and the "musicians" just sort of wander off in their usual stupors. Not even a raised eyebrow a live human being is there PLAYING ACTUAL MUSIC IN TIME! With (God forbid) vibrancy! Um, y'all too scared to share in some spirit which is music? Is that frowned upon in your niche?
I look at that and ask myself WHAT IS THIS?!? What kind of "musician" wouldn't or can't FEEL and jump right in when it's happening? What's with all the FEAR of anyone who can actually play an instrument? And it is fear. I've seen it a thousand times since coming to Florida in particular. It isn't like this in other parts of the country where when someone starts in an a groove (one that is a genuine groove complete with some actual time being played) one generally sees a CLAMOUR to pick up instruments and join right in! Not here in this town. There's the smell of fear in its place. Everyone's off into their own strange world of corporate contrived crap inbetween beer commercials or something.
The Facebook ads with these evil looking skulls on this site pretty much says it all. What appeals to the "musicians" here isn't life. It's death. That explains when an actual spirit is in their midst, they all look downward at the ground or flittler their eyes everywhere but at the guy making the actual music.
